We run complex heritage projects as principal contractor, with programmes of up to 60 weeks and contract sums approaching £1m. Clients include dioceses, cathedral chapters, parochial church councils, the National Trust and the Landmark Trust.
Many of our projects are funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. On those, keeping the budget and the funder aligned matters as much as the craft. When the tower parapet at St Peter's, Macclesfield turned out worse than expected, we set out clear statements of savings and variations so the PCC, the architect and the funder could re-scope the work and stay within budget.
We bring in trusted specialists (stained glass, micro-piling, lifts) and manage them under one programme, compliant with CDM 2015 and accredited through CHAS and Constructionline.
